WHY CHARLOTTE?
When you’re a Charlotte Fellow, you’ll have a front row seat to all the variety, charm, and opportunity the Queen City has to offer. In 2020, Charlotte was named one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. The perks of a big city combined with the warmth of a small town make Charlotte the perfect place to invest 9 months of your life - or call home. Charlotte is also a great home base to explore the mountains of North Carolina (just a two hour drive to Asheville, NC) or the coast (a three and a half hour drive to NC and SC beaches).
THRIVINg CITY CENTER AND CULTURE
In Charlotte, our city center is called “Uptown.” In the mornings here in the heart of Uptown, bankers and business leaders make their way to work alongside the city’s creatives, coders and more. Uptown is the home to the Charlotte Panthers (NFL), Charlotte Hornets (NBA), and the headquarters for Bank of America, Duke Energy, Honeywell and Truist (to name a few!).
U.S. NATIONAL WHITEWATER CENTER
A vast 1,300 acres of protected land offering 50 miles of trail and access to the Catawba River and Long Creek with activities such as white water rafting, paddleboarding, kayaking, ziplining, climbing, cycling, trail running, rope courses and more. There are also several programs and events the WWC hosts year round such as yoga, festivals, and River Jam - live music Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
